least able to understand the sneaky-ass slick talk they get, talking them into things they're expected to fail to live up to - so the banks can go ahead and bet against them and make a fortune.

Truth in lending. TOTAL truth. NO embroidering excessively complicated loan documents so it all sounds too good - too good to be true.
NO MORE betting AGAINST your own customers so you rake in more - especially if you're already doing just fine for yourself and really don't need that much more wealth on top of the pile you're already hoarding.

Yeah, if you really wanna know - under those circumstances I seriously believe banks should NOT be allowed to foreclose. If they get you into it, THEY should carry both the blame AND the liability.

As a matter of fact, YES. I think they should have to eat a lot of those bad loans if they're predatory in nature and not based on facts and truth and ethics and integrity. I think they should take it in the shorts. Maybe if there are some very hard lessons force-fed to the banks, maybe if there are actual consequences for this kind of shitty unethical immoral and downright sinful behavior, a few of these marauders are actually sent to jail or are forced to forfeit all this genuinely ill-gotten gain, then perhaps that will serve as a deterrent to this shitty behavior.

Yeah. I actually do think they ought to be forced to swallow some VERY bitter medicine, and take a huge loss on a lot of these. Or for heaven's sakes - WHY aren't they willing to revisit those foreclosures and RENEGOTIATE THEM, DAMMIT???????? What good to a whole neighborhood is it when these houses sit vacant, idle, open to vandalism, weather damage, and the kind of depreciation that comes from a building that isn't maintained because it's been left vacant? Better to find SOME solution, even if the homeowner winds up paying pennies on the dollar? Hell, they give those kinds of breaks to the fat cats all the time.

And if they try to plead poverty, I'd say - take it out of your CEO's bloated compensation package if you're so hard up for money these days!!!! I say it's time for seriously PUNITIVE measures. If I were president and it were my move, I'd invoke my powers as a War President, and start nationalizing the banks - or threatening to do so. Make the pirates SQUIRM. They deserve to.
