Your name calling and accusatory vehemence toward me pretty much brings into specific relief who I meant by 'you guys'.
I'll be the first person to tell you that I am FAR from a 'nice' person, and don't even jokingly entertain the notion that I'm anywhere near 'religiously pure'. I am a Christian because I believe in what Christ taught, simple as that. Much as I might try to walk that walk every day, be sure, there ARE people who piss me off and cause me to step off that path from time to time....
Obviously, the RW Christians have done their job well if you truly believe that Christians like me are the minority, and the hate mongering, bigoted, exclusionary faux Christians of the RW are the "vast majority".
THAT is exactly the problem I'm trying to illuminate. Don't fall for the bullshit.
You are right that Christians like me are quiet and barely visible, but we are NOT the minority, trust me. The reason we are quiet and keep our beliefs to ourselves is because of humility and toleranc...
I REALLY wish, when people post threads about "Christian" hate in this country, they would respect the profound differences between the real Christians in this society (of which I am one, and have absolutely NO problem with atheism or atheists) and the fundamentalist gasbags who only pretend to be Christian.
What your original post is describing is not "Christian Hate", its radical, extremist, right wing Christian poser hatred.

If anyone deserves this award, its Riverbend. I have enormous respect for her writing.
I have been in awe of her emotional resolve and courage since the first time I read her blog. I cannot imagine the inner turmoil she must be experiencing every single day of her life, yet, she hangs tough and makes it her mission to tell the unvarnished truth.
I pray she stays safe and wish her all the best in this contest. There is not another voice I can think of which has effected me so deeply as hers dur...
Then ask him what HE thinks the truth is:
New York Magazine covers the 9/11 truth movement.

The article does a good job, IMO, of acknowledging the fact that there are many people who shy away from the subject because of the perception that its all just conspiracy theory.
It then goes on to list many FACTS that cannot be disputed and leaves it up to the reader to decide where the truth is to be found.
Anyone who can absorb all the facts that are laid out in that article, and stil...
There's really nothing else in the kitchen that I have any great attachment to, but I AM rather anal retentive about my knife/knives.
Three Henckels that I've had since I began cooking seriously, and I intend to keep them in tip top shape because I HATE the newer handles on the Henckels. They don't fit my hand the same way and it drives me crazy.
I have considered buying another brand a few times, but just can't bring myself to do it. An odd little obsession, I know, but...

So, I just doubled the sugar in the regular recipe, and he's loved them ever since.
Easy Corn Bread
1 1/4 c. flour
3/4 c. whole grain corn meal
1/4 c. sugar (I use 1/2 c. )
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1/4 c. veg. oil
1 egg
Whisk together the dry ingredients in one bowl and the wet ingredients in another bowl. Stir together just until combined.
Bake in greased muffin pans (or use paper cups)
400 degrees 20-25 mins.

If Russ Feingold is an embarassment to the Senate, then the Senate is an embarassment to all thinking Americans.
The Wisconsin senator gets up and says out loud what half of the country is thinking and talks about every day. This President broke the law and lied about it; he trashed the Constitution and hides himself in the flag. Feingold asks: Shouldn't the Senate say something about this, at least express our disapproval?
One could argue that Censure is the wrong move in the sense that Impea...
Sounds exactly like the run up to the first enormously successful preemptive war. :sarcasm:
Same shit, different country.

This is the heresy of our time – to wrestle with the gods who guard the boundaries of this great nation’s promise, and to confront the medicine men in the woods, twirling their bullroarers to keep us in fear and trembling. For the greatest heretic of all is Jesus of Nazareth, who drove the money changers from the temple in Jerusalem as we must now drive the money changers from the temples of democracy.
