WTF

The quote from the Mayor of East Point just floors me: "If you're disabled, then why did you run for office?"

http://www.wsbtv.com/news/25804093/detail....

EAST POINT, Ga. -- Disabled Forest Park councilwoman Karen-Brandee Williams wants the city to buy her an ergo-dynamic orthopedic chair that would ease her pain while she sits during council meetings.

“I have a lot of excruciating pain,” said Williams. “And I only ask for a chair,” she said.

<snip...>

“She can buy herself one I guess,” said East Point Mayor Corine Deyton.

Deyton told Channel 2 Action News reporter Tom Jones that the city had nothing to do with the accident and shouldn't have to pay for a chair that costs $1,900.

“If you're disabled, then why did you run for office? I mean, … if you're really disabled. That's just the way I feel about it,” said Deyton.

Williams was offended by the comment.

“To me, that sounds very discriminatory,” said Williams.

<snip...>

Yeah, that sounds very discriminatory to me too.
