Howdy DUers, my car was rear ended and is in the shop all week. I could have rented a car and be reimbursed by the insurance company - but I decided not to because I bought this great folding bike and wanted to see what it was like commuting with it. In Los Angeles most of the buses are equipped with a bike rack. I just ride up to the corner, wait for the bus, throw it on and I'm off.

The route drops me off less than a quarter mile from where I work and I ride the rest of the way. The first day I rode the nine and a half miles all the way back home - it got a little scary but it wasn't that bad.

This is costing me $2.50 a day and I get my exercise.

Win win if you ask me.
