Where I live, in Virginia, about 40 minutes from Tech, there are gun shows all over the state. The biggest place to buy firearms and illegally take them to New York is in Richmond. If you live in the state, you just have to fill out the paperwork and wait for a criminal check. Also, semi-automatic weapons are illegal, right? Well, at these gun shows you can buy a part here, a part there, a part over there, and by the time you're done, you have an automatic weapon if you know what you're doing. During the Hillsville Flea Market over the Labor-Day holiday every year, people sell their own private guns. You can buy someone's 357 magnum and not have to exchange any paperwork . . . just pay for the gun. We found a tazer (sp) last year for sell, and it was left laying on a table where any kid could've picked it up. The people who were running their allotted area was watching it and showing people how to use it though.

Our neighbor traded a handgun with another neighbor for a trade of a pool table. Their is no way to keep up with who has what. I really don't know how they could ever get everyone to register every weapon they own.
