A physicist who worked on the Manhattan Project. An outspoken authority on the dangers of nuclear fission and a research expert on cancer. From the bio on a book that he wrote - ".... is also a former Associate Director of the Lawrence Livermore (radiation) Laboratory, where he conducted research on cancer and chromosomes (1965-1972) until the Atomic Energy Commission manged to stop his work." That story is in the book.

I have a new hero.

Rustin - this is Black History Month. It's a chance to learn about one person involved with King on civil rights. What is fascinating is that after successes and Johnson getting the rights bill passed, Rustin departed from others in that he believed progress should follow a political path with concentration on jobs. Everyone (seems like everyone) else favored protests. What foresight. (Not that protests were wrong, but we found was how easy it was for protestors to be smeared and how increasingly militant the police actions have become and how deadly the tools became and how many abusers have gotten away with their tactics). Everything else in the program is also fascinating - I learned things I never knew before - perhaps I'm the only one who didn't know this stuff.

It appears to be the work of PRX - (NPR). I will try to find a link. Maybe someone has one - or their local NPR has it.

I feel the entire direction of the life that has been planned for us accelerating.

In this past decade we started questioning what was going on in this country in a very serious and time consuming way. Even before this decade started we had an election for President that was decided by the Supreme Court and we had blatant obstruction and theft of our votes and arrogance in the form of Republican companies making and selling voting machines that were rigged AND a Congress who didn’t care.

As we question, study, learn and devote ever increasing time to what is happening to us we keep going back in the century to find answers – hordes of students and teachers are informally teaching and learning trying to figure out what was going on. Some learned the past to understand the present. Stuff some of us completelyh ignored when it was going on. We studied-learned about Iran-Contra to understand who the players were who had returned to conduct the war on Iraq who were some of the sam players in positions during the assassinations of Kennedy, King, Kennedy, Allende, and many more - which involved learning about the CIA and finding out that there are two dozen intelligence departments in our government. We learaned about the warning of Eisenhower, the position of Bradley, and persons we now consider heroes, the questionable dealing of powerful Americans with Nazis that should have been called and addressed as traitorous acts when they happened, but weren’t. We learned who was who among propagandists, lobbyists, think tanks, tv guest experts, foundations, associations, jesters who didn’t mind acting like fools for the purpose of hate spreading, We learned about the wealthy who funded right wing campaigns. We studied scandalous decisions by those in power – monetary, environmental, governmental, corporate, media, military. We have witnessed unprecedented invasion by our country to take other countries away from their people and deport and imprison their leaders and then kill them or let them live as exiles. We are nearly knocked over the degree of arrogance and surprise.

It is as though the people who are doing what we’re doing don’t care – they only care about whistle blowers, leaks, locking their Presidential papers and wrongdoings by declaring them closed and locking them, including electronic, especially the electronic proofs and trails. Their infamous declarations of innocence convince their followers and help grow lies on lies. Facts and truths are sneered at and blessed. For example, torture was narrowed down to two facilitators who hold prestigious positions and get to keep them and their followers clap in support of torture. With joy. Joy in the heart from torturing people of other customs and religions – for corporations and because of the lie of superiority and the strength of the military and contractors and what would normally be called satanic planning.

Where is it all leading – to the elimination of the middle class and a barely sustainable life style for hordes of people along with the loss of rights to protest, to retain privacy, and civil rights which we were told were our natural and naturalized inheritance.

The pace of the takeover is accelerating fast. We don’t even have enough time to grieve or guess or dissect one action because they are all coming at us end-on-end and layered. We give enormous attention to trite happenings for relief from the seriousness of the other happenings.

We can see the differences in the police. They are operating from instruction and guidance that appears to send the message that we are the enemies and they can do anything unless it is caught on camera. Our legal representatives are fired for political reasons. Some deaths by the tazer tool are condoned. We are predicting policing by private firm mercenaries. There are stories about prisons ready and waiting for ….what? We hear about people picked off the street and imprisoned, Moslems and Mexicans in particular. Are they filling the privatized prisons or is there still space? We have thrown away equal rights. Tourism by air is dying because of mishandling by a new department called Homeland Security.that decides who gets to keep their job if the job is dependent on air travel.

We gave money to the rich as a reward for manipulating all the money for them and the life playing games that they invented to cause mammoth monetary shifts. All to make rich people richer and the monstrous reduction of the middle class and a growing mass of poor people. It is like they have already figured out how much of the middle class can stay in order for the rich to get richer by retaining opportunities for the remaining middle to spend their incomes to grow the richer class. Since they don’t want taxes, the wealth they are accumulating may pay their way for themselves and the middle class.

This movement against us is exquisitely orchestrated and aided by thousands to millions of people who have been groomed to lie right along with those with the wealth. They work for the wealthy without getting paid. In fact, they give money to the efforts, seemingly grass root movements or not, to spread fear and hate and lie about everything and everyone in our lives. They nearly convince their own that being robbed of pensions by those who are richer is a good thing. The lies beget lies.

Why is the pace accelerating? Liars don’t care that we know they are lying. Why are they living lies and demanding that we bow to their lies? Blatant mistruths. Savage mistruths. Mistruths that are fed by corporations from what we hear to what we put in our stomachs that alters our bodies.

Why can they afford to be so arrogant about it? How can they stray so far away from the Constitution and Bill of Rights while clinging to hate and fear, but ensuring that one of the rights is preserved – the one that applies to guns.

Is the pace accelerating because of the internet? Is it because the financial leaders who are behind it all are not meeting wealth accumulation targets they have set?

Or is it because we are learning about their game faster? Because we can conduct our own research and piece many things together before the propaganda tv networks and newspapers can get their talking points from the top, disseminated in time to take effect with their followers? Is it because we can predict what will be said to excuse what they have done based on experience and self taught knowledge about how things work from the obvious, from books, from our own guessing and informal ‘think tanks’? Do we have the experience because of the volume of scandals and thefts and lies that can be peeled down in a few hours? It is because we can recognize patterns and put puzzles together faster because of knowledge gained and retained?

If we are heading some place is it a complete takeover or a freedom based on knowledge and a propensity for not believing their lies? Is freedom possible by waiting for their lie loving followers to wake up? How drastic is our dilemma? Just how fast are we being pushed? How much time do we have to prevail against this agenda that is the ultimate in takeover.

Could Aristede come back?

If the people said they wanted to be listened to .... that they wanted Aristede to walk next to them, to talk them through the obstacles, to represent them in protecting their future, to be their envoy and representative - is it possible?

We know that there are wealthy people who object to leftist ideology that are not involved with giving the people a real voice. The hit man successes.

At the same time we know that there are probably predators who are already forming plans to make a bundle of money in amounts that would have never considered before the disaster. Aren't the people at a greater risk? For example, there might be plans to rebuild essential buildings, docks, roads that could be charged back to the people in ways that would put more monetary stress and strain than before.

It's possible that there may be jobs for Haitians that weren't possible before. But, it is also possible that foreign contractors would be given the jobs if it meant giving a contract to friends.

I heard the words of the current President thanking Obama and the American people and it was eloquent. It is the first I've heard about him other than the initial news that he and his family were safe. Has anyone heard what successes he has had or what he is saying to the people?

Is it possible that Aristede could to this and that he would be allowed to do it?

How generous are we, France, Canada, the IMF, and the World Bank?

Since they took Aristede out, could they bring him back to inspire the people to cooperate - especially in stopping the violence.

Just how generous are we? Who is protecting the people at the next stages of recovery and normalcy?

If U.S. leaders are determined to be generous with aid, why not inspirational aid? Who do they have, if not Aristede? Are there any names?

What can be done to prevent any possibility of more massacres and prisons full of able bodied people who are needed to rebuild the country, the neighborhoods. the families?

The violence seems to be building. Will it subside and stop once there is food, water, and medical aid?

If you're thinking about dismissing the question with a negative one liner, please reconsider - let's hear from Haitian experts who can speak for the people - not just the wealthy who have pre-arrangements with the predator class -- this is a question about what is best for the people - not just arrests, beatings, prison. I wish we could have a serious discussion.

If they end up with buildings that hold up in earthquakes, is that better than rights?

I fear for them. I would like to see things change for the better.

I am afraid of us.

Did taking money for the people mean the stockholders did not suffer?

when he President it was mostly comment on his policies and his mistakes and the duplicity of his statements and reasons.

Those who wrote down his gaffes did it for reference or posterity.

Those who were against policies marched or wrote in opposition to his policies. No one went to the extreme these people have for generating hate.

Democrats did not plan, organize, orchestrate, feed hate campaigns against George Bush in any parallel way.

The followers who are performing excellently for the planners are utterly out of touch with reality and no one is stepping up to control it. The planners must have said they will go all the way with the lies and it is working.

Someone came up with the idea to have them change our concern about the Constitution to their concern. We, the Democrats, are threatening their Constitution? Rovian reality par excellence. They don't know the truth.

Their hateful rants at the government is really a hateful rant at Democrats, because no one can be so absent from reality that they would hate the traffic lights that keep them alive, the right to have a jury hear their case.

Verbal Violence is pretty serious stuff the way they are handling it. Violence equals terrorism.

Any remaining members of the Republican Party who has influence over them should step up to the plate.

Obviously, the planners told each other that they didn't want to lose anyone from the voting block who make up these followers of the Fox-Limbaugh and Family and decided that they would put them to work spreading hate. The worst kind of hate - lying hate.

It is Verbal Violence. It is not free speech because it is fostering and screaming lies with the intent to spread hate among their own voting block. They are poor dependent people because reality has been stolen from them. Liars taught the followers.

It is a socio-political phenomena that is extremely dangerous because of the absence of truth.

Watch it as history in the making, but try to figure out what to do to counter it. Any Republicans of sound mind are needed immediately. The enemy is within.

Remember it? Talk about an all out pre-meditated and pre-planned program to smother protesters. Talk about agitating protesters for violence. Talk about not permitting peaceful protesters. Talk about smearing protesters. Talk about the treatment of journalists who were authorized and identified. Remember the contempt of tv guest experts demeaning against Code Pink protesters with passion.

Slowly, since the Patriot Act or since Kent State, the idea of protesters leaning left has sent the right wing into a frenzy of fear and derision and police brutality.

We have heard stories that their are empty prisons built for the purpose of populating them with protesters (and temporarily being used for rounded up 'Mexicans').

While the right wing has attacked independent protesters for decades, no matter how peaceful - remember the NYC bicyclists?

NOW, it is a big deal and a big business. Right wing companies are profiting from rallying protests of their pitiful, self-blinded followers.

The Democrats have never kept up with the right wing. I don't ever remember lobbyists and big politicians and ceo's and former Presidential candidates (Armey), and other former Congresspeople and aides working a push to get their right wing constituents to storm meetings and arranging payments for Beck and Limbaugh type howlers.

The door pounders of the right wing have turned on themselves. They no longer have a right to attack independent protectors who are heavily Democratic.

We are free to conduct peaceful protests without their haranguing us.

It is very typical of the right wing that they are protesting something good for the country because of lies. Changing reality Rovian style has really worked on them. They are victims of their own Party's deviousness.

This morning on DU there is a posting featuring the opinion of Scott McClelland about Cheney and Bush. In the write up –this quote is about Eric Holder:

“But Holder also made it clear that he believes we are living in dangerous times”.

It's true, but can WE - CHANGE it?

Is the phrase ‘we are living in dangerous times’ taking over ‘there will always be war’. Do we have to believe in either or have to say it?

Do we come out of a war to become obsessed with it, but without learning?

Why is there no Department of Peace?

Why IS THERE a Department of Defense that initiates and plans wars, especially this one in the first eight years of the 21ST CENTURY – yes, the TWENTY FIRST CENTURY.

Why are all those people who devote their lives to peace not continually featured on the news and documentaries RATHER THEN those who are fighting to kill and destroy and who have fought to fight and kill along with those who defend?

Is there a toy or game in any Wal-Mart or Target that has peace as its purpose?

Do not the words attributed to Christ AND many other revered people mean anything? The words being – I COME IN PEACE.

Why are their so many industries making so much money for top executives to a point that these top executives hire people at million dollar contracts – TO LOBBY for them for more millions?

Where are the peace industries?

Once a year Norwegians award a Prize.

Isn’t it just a step in refocusing? Instead of glorifying war, can’t we glorify peace?

Let’s match the Norwegians. Let’s ask our incoming President for a Department of Peace. Let’s ask that the head of the Pentagon meet with the Department of Peace. If this country is ever going to regain credibility or leadership, it can’t be as an invader-destroyer-plunderer, refuge maker, executioner, thief. If we, the United States of America, don’t change, we can’t find peace.

Let’s TURN OUR HEADS AROUND.

If we eventually get what we ask for – let’s just do it - ASK. Let’s ask PE Osama for a Department of Peace. Let’s talk peace more than war during his Presidency. Can we wipe out the reality that Eisenhower warned us against. Better yet, can we persuade the weapon industries all over the world to switch to peace? Can we live and thrive without war? Or will it still be all about monetary riches to some and the end of lives for victims?

Please ask for me. I’ll ask for you.

If for no other reason than to honor all those who died for peace. We need to try it.

When you get to the part about 'experts',
think AIPAC and AEI and our Military and all their partners in expertise - who now tell us what they want us to know with the 'authority' of a news network - it's implied and stated to a certain extent. Their breaking news is what they want the country to believe for their politics, profit, and control of us.

Those of us who have been watching our country follow over a credibility precipice know the truth - we KNOW who those experts are - members of AIPAC, AEI, Military, Fed Society, Heritage Foundation and all the other special expert foundations.

That means ? that the people who earned the journalism degrees get to finesse stories and gossip in their favorites bars and restaurants between appointements at hairdressers and 'curists'. And they get to meet with the government officials and the AIPAC, AEI experts to get the news. And we can see them in their meetings with their higher ups learning what the spin will be.

Think about how reasonable the fee must be for those guest expert appearances.

Then, think what the bills are that FOX runs up to fly a helicopter all over LA to catch a car chase. Think of the expense reports all those employees turned in for the never ending Aruba and Anna coverage - lots of air, hotel, meals, incidentals, and sun cream.

And they don't have the money for investigation?

Yes, go Amy, Josh and all you good investigators and analyzers. We can help each other figure out who can be trusted.
