Ex-Bush official hired at Lilly
Azar to help manage drug maker's image and direct its lobbying amid surge in lawsuits

With government scrutiny of the drug industry on the rise, Eli Lilly and Co. is turning to a former senior official in the Bush administration to help shape its public image and oversee lobbying efforts.
The Indianapolis drug maker said Friday it hired Alex M. Azar II as senior vice president of corporate affairs and communication, reporting direc...

Sun Apr 22nd 2007, 12:57 PM ... my horoscope for this coming week says that the "psychic" window is open for me, which is in complete agreement synchronistic things that have been happening and experiences which have reinforced my "sixth (seventh?) sense" over the past couple weeks.
Therefore, I am going to try in a very positive way to begin to manifest something that I've been dancing around for awhile. I've had near misses with it: probably because I wasn't 100% certain that I wanted it in my life. Or maybe I just wasn...

The spirits of the mountain exist in strength.
Their roots are deep in the Earth, their heads pierce the air and mount to the sky above.
They dance from flat to peak and, spiraling, descend again.
Good Ones, when I come under your trees and upon your stones, guide me.

If you've been talking over the course of a couple months with someone and noticed that every time they're talking with you, they either gently make that 'smacking you' motion with their day planner (or notebook, or hand, or pick something up off the desk) or mimick poking you with their car keys, would you consider that a sign of passive-aggression/disdain - even though it's done in a joking manner - or a sign that the person is maybe projecting wanting to touch you?

Hi Everyone :hi:
Some of you probably remember when HippieDog Hank fell out the car window.
A few months later, I noticed a lump on his belly - lower than his ribcage but higher than his
private parts - about the size of a golf ball, and squishy. When we were at the vet last fall
for a routine visit, I asked her about it and she said it was "probably a hernia - lots of
puppies are born with them" and then said it was something so minor that they could repair it
some time when they're cleani...

Thu Mar 15th 2007, 02:02 PM Spirit has seen fit to toss a few obstacles in my path, just when I had decided to give my notice at my present job in Indy and relocate back to WI when my lease is up in May.
Out of nowhere, 2 different headhunters with 2 different opportunities.
Out of nowhere, one of the real estate agents at my part time job wants to show me houses, and the mortgage guy seems fairly certain he can get me qualified.
I pause with my relocation plans to investigate these opportunities.
One interviewer never ...

Stone Age solutions to modern-day depression
BY EDWARD M. EVELD
McClatchy Newspapers
To confront the country's growing depression epidemic, a modern phenomenon, psychologist Steve Ilardi peered backward into human history. Way back: tens of thousands of years and beyond.
His research steered him there, to an examination of the hunter-gatherer way of life, to a time when humans lived in roving, close-knit bands. Back to the Stone Age.

Tue Feb 20th 2007, 07:25 AM ... I sorta hope not :loveya:
I was sitting at work talking with folks about the weather (it was raining) and Russ Feingold 'stopped
by'. Apparently we know each other. :loveya: He and I were talking and he mentioned having to go somewhere
for the weekend, and while we were sitting at a table chatting, we were looking directly at each other but
started touching fingers/hands - almost like sorta entwining fingers to hold hands but not quite - and I lost
track of the conversation an...

Wed Jan 24th 2007, 08:46 AM ... apparently The Universe wanted to lend you a hand ...
I had this dream early this morning:
"I had just moved into my new McHouse, out in a cute little sanitary ‘burb.
Heard this horrible mechanical noise and went to see what it was: my car was being towed, OUT OF
MY OWN DRIVEWAY!
I ran out, stopped the tow truck driver and asked WTF? – of course he was only following orders
– someone had called in that the car was a nuisance. Apparently it ‘was always parked in the same
place’ (Yeah, m...

Thu Dec 07th 2006, 06:07 PM So I got a phone call from a consulting service last evening, they saw my resume on Monster.com and wanted to talk to me about a possibility in Lafayette, about an hour north of here. I listened to what he had to say, thought about it over night, and emailed him this afternoon with a "thank you, but no". WHY AM I SUCH A CHICKEN ???
Pro's:
* My current boss just gave her notice, so now would be the perfect time for me to leave Conseco - things are a little bit unsteady, to say the least.
* Ther...

Thu Nov 09th 2006, 10:05 PM ... it gets its own. Feel free to ignore me ... I just had to acknowledge yet another episode of synchronicity between me and a certain someone.
... I was sitting at home tonight and for no apparent reason, decided to go shop for shoes. They're not in my budget this paycheck, and it was already 8:30 pm so most of the stores would be closing within an hour. But here's me in shorts, flip flops, glasses, a ponytail, sweatshirt (and no bra) ... I was on my way out of the strip mall thingie ...

Sun Oct 29th 2006, 08:48 PM Disclaimer: When I meditate I turn off lights, furnace or a/c, windows and blinds are closed - so the possibility of drafts or 'cold sensations' etc is minimalized. I also light several candles and usually have a smudge bowl burning as well.
Anyway, since I haven't meditated in a couple months, I went thru about the first 10 minutes just unwinding, focusing, relaxing (I didn't want to just 'jump in' with "I want I want I want"), then I gave my thanks to Spirit and all my guides, teachers, and ...

Fri Oct 20th 2006, 07:16 AM Sorry for my overabunance of posting lately, it seems all sorts of unusual and offbeat topics are trying to sort their way out of my gray matter.
:silly:
ANYWAY. On to the subject:
I can't recall where I saw it, some astrology site IIRC, but it was a little blurb that said something to the effect of "Looking for Your Soulmate? Be careful, you just might find it!" and then
went on to explain that contrary to the romanticised definition of soulmates as being two people
totally in sympatico who ...

Wed Sep 27th 2006, 03:10 PM Does anyone else seem to have a particular month, or time of year that gives them grief - an almost predictable span in which anything and everything that can go wrong, does?
As I look back, September has always, always been miserable for me.
And this one, monumentally so. Job, relationships, money, mental health, and yesterday for no apparent reason, my car just quit running! (It's only 5 years old!)
Is it because I'm 'starting a new astrological year' and things are all aflutter? (I...
