We need to spread the word about the astroturfing of the health care debate. The group that got my attention is named Patients United Now:
Who Are We? We are Americans just like you. The first two sentences of their about page. At the bottom there's this: Patients United Now is a project of Americans for Prosperity Foundation, which is a nonprofit organized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. They set these guys up in June I think. Wait, that's easy enough to find out... Ah, it was May. Wow, APF owns 288 other domains shame the report is $500. The main reason I mention it is these guys are on the "scare the seniors" bandwagon.  Hell, with that ad, for all I know they are the mule pulling it. So what can we do about this crap? -Hoot |
