I love passion in politics as much as the next fellow. But my passion is usually reserved for Democratic ideas. I have a difficult time getting passionate about taxcuts or trade treaties or cuts in Medicare or Social Security. These are Republican ideas and it is a rarity to see a politician get passionate about them. Because passion usually originates in ideas seeking fairness and equality and progressivism.
We should step carefully into this minefield. We should save our passion for ideas that promote the Democratic Party, not capitalism or Republicanism. We should not be blinded by the passion of any politician that would promote such ideas.
Just my two cents.
