Has anyone here refused the 'mandatory' vaccines for their children in their state?

Apparently, here in NY, you can sign an affadavit based on religious beliefs and not be required to give them the boatload of shots they 'require' during the first 18 months.

Anyone have any experiences they can share? How hard was it to find a pediatrician willing to accept your unvaccinated child as a patient? How much resistance have you run into?

Thanks

Just sharing a recall I got in my diabetic news, along with another article that caught my eye about cholesterol and prostate cancer.

-------------

Recall: Boca Medical Products, Inc. Issues Nationwide Recall of Insulin Syringe Product

April 2006 - Boca Medical Products, Inc., of Coral Springs, Florida is initiating a recall of 3984 boxes of Ultilet Insulin Syringe 30g 1/2cc product lot number 5GEXI as displayed on the inner case.

The product is being recalled because of possible bacterial presence of Bacillus Cereus and Staphylococcus Intermedius. This present a risk of local infection due to soft tissue injection with a contaminated syringe as well a risk of introduction of contaminating organism into previously sterile vial. The introduced contamination may degrade the insulin, which could lead to problems maintaining insulin levels. Boca Medical continues to evaluate possible risks.

Study: New Research Finds Direct Link Between High Cholesterol and Prostate Cancer

April 2006 - Researchers from Italy have found what they believe to be the first direct link between high cholesterol levels and prostate cancer.

A possible association has been suggested before but evidence has been limited. This new study, published on-line (Wednesday 12 April) in Annals of Oncology<1> shows a statistically significant direct relationship between the two conditions.
