I looked up my precincts breakdown of registrations: 2300 registered, 970 R, 790 D, 880 I (I'm in this).
I pulled up and some old large white dude is jumping around with a Burr and Lawson sign in either hand - it was all I could do to not swerve in his direction. Get out of the car and a 'conservative judge' group is there handing out their voter guide (since judges are SUPPOSED to be non-partisan, even though the NCGOP heavily advertises for them). I walk in and am surrounded by 2 guys who are repubs (one took a guide and the other stopped and chatted with them afterwards). Ditched my (R) vote for sheriff that I said I was going to do and just filled in the circle for straight Democratic party. I was voter #778 at 5:12 PM - so about 33% turnout (sans any early voting) I feel dirty after walking out of there. Help me wash off this funk.  |
