email i received the lampson campaign today

"Welcome President Bush to town today -- contribute to Nick's campaign!

You may not see kids trick-or-treating in costume until tomorrow night, but Halloween has clearly come early to Texas-22. Last Thursday, our opponent took her fright fest into an early voting location in clear violation of Texas election law, and today George W. Bush supporters will be converging on Fort Bend County to welcome the President for a rally to support our opponent's campaign.

I know this is a scary image, but I know that our supporters will be able to overcome their fears and help us stay strong in the face of a campaign that the President's visit is clearly meant to prop up.

Help us stay strong in the face of such fear-inducing frights -- Contribute to our campaign today so we can give them something to be afraid of!

As if the President's visit wasn't enough of an indication that the Republicans in this district will do anything to hold this seat, our opponent's electioneering last week shows that Delay-style winning at any cost is still alive and well on their side in this post-Hammer era. While voters were casting their ballots, she blatantly campaigned inside of the early voting polling place!

In addition to the obvious fright this must have caused district residents who were simply trying to exercise their right to vote in the privacy we expect in this country, this is a clear violation of election law. But when you're running as a write-in candidate with an 18 character name (19 if you count the hyphen), you'll do whatever you can think of to win the race -- even if it means breaking the law.

It's clear that the Republican party bosses in Texas-22 are getting desperate. Help us stay strong in the face of attacks that are sure to get even nastier!

Over the past few weeks, we've seen the sort of slime that desperate Republicans have been unleashing on their opponents throughout the country. We can only assume that President Bush's visit is the start of the same here in Southeast Texas, but I know that our amazing grassroots support will help us to stay strong. And remember early voting has already begun and runs through Friday, November 3rd, so you can vote for Nick now!

We're down to the final week of a very long campaign, and we're in a great position to bring real leadership we can be proud of to our district. And while Halloween may have come early for most of us, the real nightmare will be the one at our opponent's election night party once the returns start coming in.

Happy Halloween!

Mike Malaise
Campaign Manager
Lampson for Congress

P.S. Don't forget that early voting has already begun! So be sure to beat the election day crowds by casting your vote at early voting locations throughout the district -- visit our website for more "
