It turns out that Scott Ritter was likely the original source for the "mobile bioweapons labs" myth that formed a major part of the Administration' WMD case again Saddam. Ritter admits that the idea for such nonexistent Iraqi equipment was speculation among western weapons inspectors, and that in 1997 he passed this information on to Ahmad Chalabi in Paris. Shortly thereafter, Chalabi's INC organization produced "Curveball", the sham defector who pretended to have first-hand information about such germ warfare trailers.
