And she still is!

Randi, you've worked your ass off for AAR. You believed in it when no one else did. You literally dropped everything to move to NYC--uprooting your life and career for this upstart network. You stuck by them when it would have been so easy (and sensible) to head back to sunny Florida.

Thank you so much for your dedication to your craft. You are and have always been a serious professional. Your fans love you and we are saddened that AAR has turned into such a toxic place for true progressives.

We aren't worried however...we know you will be just fine. Here's to a new chapter in your life! The world is your oyster!

If you do nothing else on the computer today, listen to Dr. King's speech on Vietnam. All of it. Let it sink in. Realize that nothing has changed. You must hear his message and understand it. Many of his sermons will be quoted today, but the MSM won't dare quote this one. They never do. There's a reason for that.

Please, please listen to this.

I work in an upscale martini bar.

Live jazz music, great food menu, wonderful owners and staff.

I bar-back (pour beer, wine, and wash glasses) on Friday and Saturday nights. Every week I see the so-called "Sanctity of Marriage" played out among heterosexual bar flys.

Tonight, two guys sitting in front of me talked about their wives, how smart and good their kids were, how happy and secure they were in their jobs etc.

After their second round of drinks, one of the men (early 40s, both) motioned for me to come over and said "Hey, sweetheart, you see those two girls at the end of the bar? I want to buy them both a drink...put it on MY tab." <wink wink>

Fast-forward to their third round, the fat guy said to me, (I was busy washing dishes), "Hey, sweetheart, when do YOU get to drink tonight?" <wink wink>. I went suddenly deaf and turned my back.

One thing I have learned, you never tell a drunken, straight man you're a lesbian. He'll think he's hit the jackpot.

You wanna preserve the "sanctity of marriage"?

How's about keeping track of your fucking fat-assed, alcoholic husbands.

Edit to add: the two married assholes left with the two girls.

Dear Ms. Thomas,

I just wanted to thank you for your tenacity and diligence in dealing with
the Little Emperor in the White House. Yours is a thankless job but at
least you can rest every night knowing that you did your part.
You asked the questions no one else had the guts to ask. You told the
little Emperor that he indeed had no clothes. Now the rest is up to us. I
wish you good health, best wishes and lasting peace for us all.

Warmest regards,

xxxxxxx

From a local columnist here in Winston-Salem. She always does great work and really nails the essence of Moyers' lecture.

Season for Heresy
Moyers issues impassioned call for some real 'old-time' religion

By Linda Brinson
EDITORIAL PAGE EDITOR

Like an Old Testament prophet, Bill Moyers was impassioned and eloquent when he spoke in Wait Chapel at Wake Forest University Tuesday morning. Fueled by righteous indignation and armed with powerful examples, he railed about the wrongs he sees and exhorted those gathered for a chapel service sponsored by the divinity school to take action to make things right. His was a voice in the wilderness of an America gone astray, issuing a clarion call for good people to work together to save their democracy. <snip>

Enormous amounts of Jagermeister do not make you:

1. Pretty
2. Clever
3. Charming
4. Sexy

It just makes the bar staff make fun of your drunk ass behind your drunken back.

mmmmmmmkay????

Christ! How can people drink that crap

This is in response to a thread in GLBT aimed at thanking those who made our coming out a little easier.
Sitting in her office across the desk from her shaking, blushing, I told her I was gay, no one else on the face of the earth knew, and she said--

"I am honored and privileged to know that. Don't be in a hurry to tell to many people though. You're not crazy. You're not alone. Most of the time I wish I WAS GAY..."

She was a handsome, tall red-head who was from near my hometown. The first woman PhD I'd ever met. She saved my life for sure. Of course I fell madly in love with her after that.

I haven't talked to her in 15 years.

Okay. So lawmakers in certain states want to outlaw sex-toys? I propose "Vagina Victory Gardens". It doesn't take much space to grow cucumbers or zucchinis. I'm half-way serious here. Put your green thumbs to work.

I have to admit, veggies are a hell of a lot cheaper than latex toys. (No comment on how I know this)

Spring is here. How does your Vagina Victory Garden grow?

A blast from the past. And to think it all started here...
My Mom just emailed me the news. There's no link yet.

She said WLOS tv just broke in to report that the East Waynesville Baptist church has officially excommunicated all its democratic members.

She said that before the election, the preacher told the congregation from the pulpit that if they didn't vote for * they had to come to the altar to confess their sins and repent. they could'nt be members. (My Mom doesn't attend that church--she's United Methodist, but I know of lots who do attend).

From Mom's email: "One of the local women who got excommunicated said on TV that it was like a cult. Another man who got excommunicated said that the rest of the congregation stood up and applauded as the Democrats were told to leave."

Okay, I'm officially freaked out.
