I was found an excellent quote in the book I've been reading since, January. Yes, since January. I usually zoom through books in a week or two but it's James Michener's 'The Covenant'. I slogged through 'The Source', last year.

John Dube, in one of these meetings, offered the statement which Nxumalo would always remember:'The worst thing a nation can do to itself is to cultivate and maintain a supply of cheap labor. When salaries are kept down, money stops circulating, taxes bring in diminished funds, and everybody loses. The white man thinks he's hurting us when he keeps our wages low. Actually, he's hurting himself.

Go,Walmart. Go, Republicans. By-by, middle-class.

I thought I would start keeping some thoughts in my DU journal. I'm not a big one for posting threads. I usually make comments and move on. I never have 'chatted' back and forth with anyone. I'm not sure how. I'm scared of the unfamilure. Now, i will see if this actually shows up on my journal page.
