In an interview with WPTV news Senator Bill Nelson says Florida folks do not react well to having their votes taken away. He says the National Democratic party just does not understand. He says he tried to "settle this thing" nine months ago. He said Howard Dean and the rest of the committee (he thinks there are only about 300 of them) did not want to sit down and work it out. More on that below.

Interview with Bill Nelson

U.S Senator Bill Nelson (D) Fla., spoke about a number of issues facing Floridians today. At his office in West palm Beach, Senator Nelson discussed a possible solution for the democratic delegate issue – and voiced concern that if something wasn’t done soon to reach a compromise there could be “blood on the floor” in Denver during this year’s Democratic Convention.

Bill is going to be the Pied Piper for Florida's delegates, leading them to Denver in August.

Nelson: "I will lead the delegates to Denver whether or not the DNC plans to let them in."

The state party would have 30 days to change its plan before the sanctions would go into effect, but instead Florida's Democratic lawmakers say they will fight back. Sen. Bill Nelson told reporters in a conference call Friday that he'll lead the delegates to Denver whether or not the DNC plans to let them in.

"We are quite concerned that Florida Democrats are going to lose their right to vote," Nelson said. "And of all states, we have the sensitivity of this because of what we have gone through.

Those are his words from last August. Not a single thing Dean has said, not a single party rule, nothing gets through his thick head.

Dean was conciliatory and offered DNC help for the state"..hour long phone call

TALLAHASSEE — As Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean put out peace feelers to Florida Thursday, a Tampa party activist filed a federal lawsuit seeking to make the party recognize results of the state's Jan. 29 presidential primary.

Participants in an hour-long conference call with Dean said they held out hope for a compromise to resolve the DNC ultimatum to back off the early date. The party's rules committee last weekend gave Florida Democrats 30 days to comply with its rules that allow only four states — Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada — to select delegates before Feb. 5. Failure to do so will lead the national party to strip the state of its 210 votes at the Democratic National Convention.

One Florida DNC member even said that "it was a nice, civil discussion with the chairman but we've got to remember that it's about the voters who want their ballots to count."

Bill Nelson, I hope everyone watches the interview you gave. They will see what our party is facing. You have made a name for yourself on this issue...but I consider it done on the backs of Howard Dean and the rest of us who know you are spinning.

Oooh, I just heard him on the video lying about the rules. And threatening even more. They knew they would lose all the delegates, ALL of them. They had 30 days to fix it.

Florida KNEW they could lose ALL their delegates if they voted yes to move the primary.

Unbelievable. They knew, and he is not telling the truth.

Even this MTP video I posted in the Video forum says from the beginning they knew they would lose them all. Stop the lies.

Hillary accepted & signed the DNC rules barring MI & FL. From a MTP interview

I am so tired of this stuff.
