even if she has to lend her campaign more money. I guess that will be good news to those caterers and consultants who are as yet unpaid.
Clinton moves onOne sign told it all tonight as Hillary Rodham Clinton gave her victory speech here at the Charleston Civic Center after decisively winning the West Virginia presidential primary.
One side: We are with you Hillary
Flip side: Until the last dog dies
“I’ll never give up and I’ll stand with you as long as you stand with me,’’ Clinton said in her speech. She contends that the continuation of the contest—which some think is unwinnable for her—“has been good for the Democratic Party.’’
Here are Terry McAuliffe's words on the situation.
Terry McAuliffe, Clinton’s campaign chairman, agreed in an interview that campaigns often end because of a lack of money. “You bet,’’ he said. “I agree with that.’’
But he maintained the Clinton campaign has the money it needs to continue for the last three weeks of primaries.
“The good news is we have bought all of our media,’’ he said. “We’ve been up here. We’ve been up in Kentucky. We’ve been up in Oregon. We’ve opened our offices in all the remaining states.’’
....Asked if Clinton has loaned the campaign any more money, he said, “She has not. She’s told me she’d be willing to lend more. But we have not.’’
All is well says Terry McAuliffe, and he added “I’m not telegraphing what we are spending in states,’’ he said. “But our staff’s fully paid. We’ve opened all of our offices. We’re buying media. We’re doing everything a candidate does for president and tonight I think we’ll have another great night as we had last Tuesday night on the Web.’’
