She seems to have made Fox News her home now. I was really surprised to read this statement from her. I thought we were getting beyond this sexist stuff, and moving on.
Geraldine Ferraro: This Might Do It for McCainShe is still blaming the Obama campaign and Howard Dean because Hillary lost.
By Geraldine Ferraro
Former Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate/FOX News Political Contributor
It’s going to be a very interesting campaign. I must say that several months ago I said that it would be great if there was a woman on the ticket — that I felt that John McCain would have to pick someone, especially if Hillary was the nominee. But without Hillary being the nominee it’s really quite equally as important because people are looking for a smart campaign and I think this might do it.
There are a lot of women who are disaffected by how Hillary was treated by the media, by how she was treated by the Obama campaign, by how she was treated by the Democratic National Committee — Democratic party chairman Howard Dean not speaking up when sexism raised its ugly head in the media. They’ll be looking to see what happens now.
That's a threat, and not really a veiled one.
I am sick and tired of blame being put on Dean, but it is not surprising. It went on all during the primaries from the
former candidate and her hubby and from the Florida Democrats. Not to mention the media.
Someone needs to sit down and have a very long chat with Geraldine Ferraro very soon.
Howard Dean deserves better. Barack Obama deserves better than having a former Democratic VP candidate attack them openly. Shame on her.
And I will continue to mention that, after all the Democratic talking heads and their right wing utterances about what a poor fundraiser Dean has been......I will keep on posting this now and then to remind them.
In spite of all the flak...Howard Dean outraised Terry McAuliffeFrom Jan. 1, 2001, when Terence R. McAuliffe took over the committee, through March 31, 2004, the DNC raised approximately $127 million in funds that could be spent directly on campaign activities. Between Jan. 1, 2005, and March 2008, the DNC raised $190 million, considerably more.
So thank you, Howard Dean for following the party rules.
And will someone have that talk with Geraldine soon?
