I use it to annoy my wife while watching James Bond movies...when Bond goes to another location, I say "Been there!"
I have a metabolic disorder that requires me to be on a low-protein diet.
I know that a lot of people with my disorder (PKU) are very bitter about their dietary restrictions. Personally, it doesn't bother me a bit - despite having eaten a normal diet for about 30 years before finding out I should have been on a low-protein diet for life.
I'm not holding my breath.
No question they're in for a rough patch, the various factions vying for power - but I expect that they'll manage to get their crap together...eventually.
I'd love to see the party splinter - but, as I said, I'm not holding my breath.
But...Schwarzenegger for Energy? I'm not against competent Repubs in the Cabinet - not thrilled, but not against - but SCHWARZENEGGER? Don't get it.
my wife got something from our county about early voting...I haven't. Maybe I need to make sure I haven't been purged- though I can't imagine any justification for it whatsoever, even on pretense.
Additionally...something I wondered about with that...on the card, it says: "Bring ID: In an effort to prevent vote fraud and double voting, state law requires early voters to display valid identification to an election official before receiving a ballot to vote early. Valid forms of ID include: a current driver's license, state-issued ID card or another government-issued ID with a photograph."
Is this true? It may be, just that there's been a lot of talk about voter intimidation through bogus ID requirements being stated, so I want to be sure.
Here I quote (and add to) a post I posted in a thread in GD: The constantly changing story on exactly how Ms. Bhutto died is...odd. Shot before the bombing, shot after the bombing, hit by shrapnel, hit in the neck, hit in the neck and chest, broke her neck in her sunroof, and now it's a heart attack? First I've heard of someone questioning this: Farooq Naik, a senior official in Ms Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party, said the government's explanation of her death was a "pack of lies". http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/7163... They need to get their story straight, or there will be serious repercussions for the nation of Pakistan, I think.
I have lots of minor ones, what with hindsight and all, but the biggest...
definitely not telling the woman I fell in love with freshman year of college how I felt...until it was many years too late to matter.
but I doubt it'll get much support in the corporatist Congress.
I don't suppose anyone has a list or a link for corporations that would qualify?
I hope it will open some people's eyes about this.
I know that most people don't take the disadvantages of shortness seriously, but it's definitely there - and the discrimination is pervasive.
#1- Blacks can't help it, they were born that way? Ohhh, noooo...THAT'S not racist #2- "There is not one scintilla of credible scientific evidence that suggests that homosexuality is biological in origin....." Really? So, he's really up on his scientific research into homosexuality, is he? Clearly not, as there have been numerous studies in the past 10-15 years that indicate that there IS a biological origin or at least biological contribution to homosexual preference. The brains of homosexuals differ from heterosexuals. THAT'S credible biological evidence, moron. But then, that would be REAL science, not "intelligent design" "science"...so, he no doubt believes it's a trick of the "devil", or some such idiocy. (again)

if the Repubs prevent this from coming to a vote - EVERY American needs to KNOW that the Repubs fought to preserve this giveaway to the oil companies when gas prices were high.
Well, I expect that I'll be seeing a lot of my fellow DUers there.
but some people feel that they are PERSONALLY in too much danger from the excesses of this Administration to stay.
I can't condemn anyone who leaves for doing so. I've considered it myself for personal reasons that make me and my fiancee (in my mind, at least) prime targets of abuse and discrimination under the government that is emerging under these fascists.
I won't leave lightly, but if I do, it's a choice I'll have to make.
Also, IMO, if we don't retake the House this year...there might not be anything left worth fighting for. The people are too scared/stupid to do anything, and the politicians of the party that SUPPOSEDLY is for the good of the PEOPLE are such corporatist cowards in the main, that they won't do $#!^.
Have any of you seen the Rods of Ra? An absolute MUST HAVE! http://www.rodsofra.com / This link was posted on a board I've been reading lately, The Hall of Ma'at http://www.hallofmaat.com / - which is a great site (quite a bit of pseudoscience debunking going on there)
