to me what Mr. Gore does. He has done more for this country, world than you can imagine trayfoot. He was fouled in the 2000 election. Imagine that if you will, losing the presidency by a court decision. Imagine having to deal with all the remarks and lies this man has had thrust upon him. But did he quit doing things to help the nation that poked and ridiculed him? No. Do you remember him standing with gavel having to quieten senators who opposed the outcome of that election. Reps standing and shouting in protest over Mr Gore pounding the gavel saying "order order order on the floor". I remember thinking, what a valiant, strong, remarkable man this is. What a loss for our country to have to be lead by a man that doesn't have half the character or strength that Mr. Gore has. Let alone integrity. Now Mr. Gore has taken this defeat which would devastate anyone and turned it into a passion to bring attention to the world about an issue that truly effect each and every one of us. Global Warming. How much has he been ridiculed about this? AL Gore is a true hero. I will support him in anything he does, and ask him for nothing. We are fortunate to have this man in our world.
Should Mr. Gore decide to run I'll be elated, if he doesn't I'll understand. Either way this man has served us in remarkable ways, how dare you demand anything more of him.
whenever elected representatives get the key to the office they are to occupy they also get a "dvd" "cd" or "letter" explaining their new views. I have no proof other than look back and see how many reps have done a complete 180 once they get into office.
My guess is the "letter" ect. Reads something like this.
MEMO TO NEW "CONGRESS CRITTERS". (Or) "HOUSE GUESTS" Welcome to "whatever applies". It is our pleasure to have you join this elite and respected branch of our US Government. Many new and wonderful privileges will be afforded you. There is one little issue that must be disclosed at this time. The issues you ran you campaign on are admirable and have served you well thus far, however, they no longer are subject to you or your constituents view. We know this may seem wrong to you at this time but in time you will understand the reasons for this or you will be personally smeared to the point no one will ever believe, vote or respect you any more, ever. You know we have this power and use it on a regular basis. Thank you for your cooperation.
Welcome to Washington, may your stay be prosperous. sincerely The Corporation
On second thought this is probably spoken with the speaker having the only witness.
The man speaks well. If that is what articulate means then it is a compliment. I take that to mean instead of trying to sound cool or stylish he is intent on sounding smart, educated and proper. Bright is generally a compliment as well, after all that is why a person stresses to be articulate, IMHO. Clean seems to be a insult to a lot of folks. I guess it could be. But IMHO I think he really meant to say clean cut. Clean cut meaning sharply dressed, close hair cut and neat in appearance. Obama stands out in all the areas. Biden paid him a compliment, he essentially was saying he thinks Obama is more likable than the people who have ran before him. What Biden doesn't understand is by saying African American or Indian American he is adding racial tones to his statement. And by doing so, he insults the other people of that ethnicity. even if he didn't mean to. Just my thoughts.
Mr Gore has shown a deep compassion for this country and the rest of the world with the making of his film An Inconvenient Truth. I would vote for him period. The right wing thinks he is eccentric in his views portrayed in the movie, but now the weather channel has basically vindicated him. B*sh in his SOTU even referenced human caused climate change. Gore knew and believed this when he was elected in 2000. It is amazing to me how intelligent that makes him look now. With that kind of foresight, hindsight is irrelevant.
Now if he waits a while and lets the top candidates do the normal trashing and dehumanizing they do in every campaign, he will enter when the other candidates are worn down and he will be fresh. Also the other candidates time and focus will have been spent taring each other apart. The fresh perspective he would bring buy throwing his hat in at that time will bring a lot more face time with major media as well. The illustration in the OP may very well be the exact outcome.
Obama's inexperience, Hillary's baggage and attitude will make some not vote for them. Gore has experience, charisma, but most of all he has wisdom and foresight that speak volumes of his character. Don't get me wrong, I'll vote for the Dem nominee but I really want to lift Al Gore to the leader of the free world, and this time not have it stolen.
edit: to correct spelling
but if we have to register as lobbyist wouldn't that make anything used to "lobby" tax deductible? Computers, the the home office, internet connections, tickets to ball games, Providing we take a "client" or specific lobby-ee. P.S. Who do we call to get all the free swag to send to our reps at the state and federal levels? Quandray to use or not the symbol of sarcasm?????
essential to Idaho's multi million dollar hunting industry." Otter said. I just wonder if he has a clue why he has a "hunting industry" to begin with. I would be willing to bet they reintroduced the gray wolf most likely to to keep the Elk population and other animal population in check. If there are to few predators Elk and Deer will often over populate an area. This usually leads to a lot of undersized Elk and Deer that can't find enough food to maintain a healthy existence. I guess in this boneheads eyes that means the state can sell more Elk stamps. I could understand wanting to reduce the numbers of Gray Wolves if they were posing a threat to humans but for no their reason than line some fat cats pockets is appalling. The Gray wolf is a majestic and beautiful animal that hunts what it needs to exist. They aren't out there gathering trophies and killing other animals just to have something to do. They play an important role in the ecosystem by culling the weaker animals so the rest of the herd can live healthier and have fewer diseases. Thats why you have large beautiful Elk Mr Otter. I wonder what he plans to do with 1050 wolf carcasses? From his statements in this article I don't think he cares as long as he can tickets to shoot them. What a waste of skin this guy is.
that really sucks. To answer your question, sure you can. Thats what Jimmi Hendrix did. In fact the Fender Strat signature guitar to Hendrix comes that way. I found it difficult to play being a righty because the pots are under your right wrist but it didn't slow Jimmi down. Tommy Iommi cut the tips of his fingers off right before Black Sabbath got signed. He actually made some kind of extensions and glued them to his fingers and became what he is today. A legend. I hope what ever you try works well for you.
I am sure people working for minimum wage will be happy-er. Basically a 2.00/hr raise is a nice bump. It's not enough but its a start.
For fifteen + years they have been passing laws regarding smoking that effect every one but themselves. Hypocrites, thank you Madam Speaker. I hope some one will post a picture of the members standing outside in the rain or snow to smoke. Oh thats right they can still smoke in their offices.
You have a population of 5 million people smack dab in the middle of 5oo million people who want nothing more than to wipe them off the face of the earth. The Hamas and Hezbollah terrorist have been using suicide bombers for years to achieve this goal. Israel gives the land they occupied for years back to the countries they acquired it from with one single promise, peace. They were repaid by terrorist tunneling under the established border and kidnapping two soldiers. Tunneling under the border into a nation of people who just want to be left alone.
The United Nations is there in the capacity to protect the border and see that Hezbollah is disarmed by the Lebanese. My the were efficient weren't they. 12,000 uncontrollable rockets are stashed right under their noses.
Meanwhile the people who are entrusted with disarming Hezbollah, allows them to hold seats in 25 percent of that government. Basically Hezbollah wins the hearts of these people by doing things the government can't. Supplying water basic services which allows the access to dig tunnels and store munitions given to the by their sponsors. Which brings us to now.
Israel upon learning that there is a tunnel under their land used to smuggle in suicide bombers rockets and the likes, while they believe there may actually be peace after doing everything required of the by the U.N.
Then Israel says we've had it. we are not going to take this anymore and retaliates with the idea that we have to kill these terrorist if we want to live. They are taking out the threat maybe if Hezbolloah would put on a uniform and stop parking rocket launcher next to the dwellings of civilians less civilians would be killed. If they are civilians in the first place.
Do you really think if Hezbollah gave the kidnapped soldiers back and ceased aggressive acts like lobbing unguided rockets at military installations, strike that, cities that Israel would keep up their attacks?
Do you really think that the only children being killed are Hezbolloah, strike that Lebanese civilians.
Why are countries like Jordan, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia ect not shouting like hell protesting these events?
My wish here is not offend anyone, I don’t like what I see and read and hear everyday either but if anyone is fighting dirty, its Hezbollah and Hamas or really Syria and Iran. Just the way it looks to me.
I view politics and America's relationship with the world. In 2004 I changed the way I vote and think about what I see on the news, news papers. Now if you want to kick me in the nuts, the first one is free. The rest will cost you. I read something about that up post. The thing I have a problem with in the democratic party is infighting. At a time when the country needs a change the democratic party seem to be ousting the candidates that have the best chance to win. And as much as the right scars the hell out of me the far left is just as scary. I appreciate the passion but that without action really is nothing.
Fahrenheit 911 opened my eyes to see the ties Bush has with Bin Laden, one degree of separation. I also believe Bush has the M.E. and a large portion of the world up in arms with his war on terror. Iraq was a mistake, a blunder, a you wanna' kill my daddy boy, do ya? A chest thumping contest that has done nothing but kill thousands of people. And will kill thousands more before the problem gets solved. Also if we just leave Iraq, Iran will probably annex it.
The media is a huge part of the problem too. All I want is the facts, not opinion, not spin but the facts. Conservative beliefs aren't just tossed out with the trash. The media shows the left as promoting gay people, atheist, big government, high taxes and so on. Two of these issues I could care less about, do what you want, I'll still shake your hand eat dinner and embrace you as fellow human being and even a friend. But big government and tax hikes piss me off. But I can't really say that anymore because the republicans have increased the size of government to monstrous proportions. Just what they swore they wouldn't do.
So yeah Michael Moore is responsible for opening my eyes to Bush and his administration. And had a large part in my back turning on the republican party.
Dog = free Kid = expensive as hell im sure {he is my nephew} Kicked back on the couch with a grin = Priceless

The Democratic path to extinction
Infighting, plain and simple. The Democrats are poised to win big this November, however the leadership seems at time to be focusing on the administration and not the issues. Or at least it appears that way to me. Why Flag burning, Christianity in schools are taking Democratic attention away from issues that effect people like cost of living, foreign policy and illegal immigration should be at the top of the Democrat agenda.
Instead we are gathering signatures to get God out of schools in Georgia. How many lives that will save have yet to be determined. The negative light that puts on the Democrats is huge in a country where 60+ percent of people attend church. These people don't like war, they don’t like $3.00/gal. Gas. And they don't like destruction of environment generally. So why would we want to alienate our party from them right before the elections?
The right to free speech and expression should never be forgotten or trampled on, but that is exactly what happens when you protect people who openly do so. It looks like we all condone the act and even encourage it. Once again the people who have children, husbands and wives in the military both presently and in the past are not only offended but enraged. There are quite a few of them right now as well.
With the Bush administration gung ho policies backfiring in America's face right now, the stage is set for some progressive thinking people to get in and turn around the current situation in Iraq. This occupation has worn out its welcome and surely is to blame for the escalation in hostilities there. We can't be soft on terrorism, but we can at least battle in countries that truly sponsor it. And only after giving them the opportunity to handle this problem on their own.
We can never give up the fight to preserve all the rights we are granted in the Constitution and none of them are unimportant. But we can put the fights that make us look opposed to patriotism and Christianity on the back burner until we get firmly seated in the legislative branch of government again. Then we can re raise these important issues and have the power to effect them.
