what comes to mind. My mind usually tries to go off in two different directions and it gives me a headache. I always believe that we have to start acting tougher and my second thought is, "God, I hope we really mean it this time". This is definitely not a democratic bashing thread, but after I read that headline somewhere today, I wondered I would worry about statements that we (the democratic party) make about playing hardball. I want us to start rubbing their noses in it. Now I feel better.

and the article he read referred to the police in the US. I will talk to him sometime in the next two or three weeks.

In Pennsylvania, there was a group of mostly young people demonstrating because their hero, a pedophile enabler, had been fired. The reasons why he was fired did not seem to matter to them. A few hundred miles up the road and throughout cities across the country there are also groups of people, mostly young, demonstrating to fight for the rights of the working and middle classes.

I wonder how they arrived at such different places. I think that there are real lessons to be learned here before we leap back into the behavior norms of the middle ages.

I do not send them myself but I started an account because I got interested in following different people. I had two followers, Move-On and some shopping site (wow). Today I got a notice that I had another follower. I checked his site and it was some libertarian with absolutely polar opposite views to what I hold and naturally I blocked his site.

I dd wonder, however, if these people troll sites like ours to spy on the supposed liberals. It was a little odd and I wonder if this had happened to anyone else.

The Guardian (I love that paper) is posting details of the hacking scandal that are being released in a hearing held by the Culture Select Committee. This is not good for the Murdochs, especially James.

I just sent this to an old friend and thought it would be a nice memory for those of us who have been around for a while and for newer folks to enjoy also.

It just seems so bizarre. I do not think a day goes by without at least one member of congress lying to the American people, apparently without consequence. If they want to hold their showcase hearings, questioning people under oath, they should be held to the same standards. Don't they take an oath when they are sworn in? You would think that oath includes telling the truth.

The lengths that people like Cantor will go to to protect the wealthy is part of the overall problem. The fact that he and his accomplices are willing to jeopardize the nation's economy to let the wealthy keep their ill-gotten gains is mind boggling. The only thing that is even harder to understand is how they are able to convince their victims (working and middle class voters) to keep them in power.

As despicable as these people are, they are in office because the people they screw, put them their. I do not know what it will take to convince the brain washed masses, the ditto heads and Fox News viewers etc, that the republican party is out to destroy their way of life. I worry that by the time they find out, it will be too late. We will be living in an impoverished theocracy.

The police were extremely arrogant and seemed completely oblivious of the trouble they were in. Its about an 8 minute but well worth watching.

As my colleagues in London report, as the new allegations came to light on Monday, News Corporation abruptly changed tactics in its effort to win regulatory approval for its bid to buy the 61 percent of BSkyB it does not already own. As part of its new strategy, the company withdrew its offer to put the 24-hour television news channel Sky News under independent control.

This does not make sense to me as it further undermines their fast disappearing credibility
