I would LOVE to have a beer with this woman, and I don't even like beer:

Mr. President, I ask you this: If they donít even believe you are an American citizen, why the hell do you care if they think you are going to kill their grandmother? Rush Limbaugh was not elected to any office. Pass healthcare reform with a public option and move on. Rush will get over it. Trust me. He has a pill for that.

What a deal for the insurance companies! Considering the impact these Blue Dogs have had, they sold themselves really cheap.

WASHINGTON ó During the first half of the year, as the Obama administration and moderate and liberal factions within the Democratic Party wrangled over the timing, shape and cost of health care reform efforts, the party's fiscally conservative Blue Dog Coalition pulled in $1.1 million in campaign contributions, according to watchdog organizations.

More than half the amount came from the pharmaceutical, health care provider and insurance industries ó and successfully delayed voting on overhaul proposals until the fall.

The amount outstrips contributions to other congressional political action committees during the same period, according to an analysis by the Center for Public Integrity , a nonprofit watchdog organization.

On average, Blue Dog Democrats net $62,650 more from the health sector than other Democrats, while hospitals and nursing homes also favor them, giving, respectively, $5,680 and $5,550 more, according to the Center for Responsive Politics , a nonprofit organization that tracks the influence of money in politics.
