The discussion has been deleted, although it made top ten at the time. An excerpt

So, to have now one of OUR candidates - whom some of us deemed fairly progressive - embrace those memes ("welfare state" "personal responsibilities" "failed liberals" - which Bush uses too, BTW) - feels like a knife in the back. I feel betrayed and saddened that there are DU-ers that don't get it.

raison d'etre in 2001.
The Delay thugs in your photo were protesting vote counting.
My sign in DC will say: "COUNT EVERY VOTE"
True to my beliefs since I picked my handle here: Robbedvoter
As Pete Sieger said: "If you can't change the world, at least don't let it change you"
DU just turned full circle - mocking activism dor democracy.
I never forgave Republicans going along with election theft because it benefited them.

The stolen election(s), the anti-war protests, the 2004 primaries - Clarkies.
I am finding the place hard to stomach - and my stomach is far from delicate. I love debates, I don't mind the occasional rough and tumble - I didn't need to take breaks in 2004.
But when I see a bad replay of the Hunting of the President - in the very place that offered me a respite from the media for 8 years - it doesn't seem to be home for me here anymore.
I'll join the other Hillary supporters in the week long strike at midnight tonight - with a faint hope that something could make me stay when I come back...
Until then, I'll find places to express myself where my beliefs do not earn me the name of "troll" and earn me a place on blacklists (#1 was flatering, "B" list - not so much).
let the flames start - I have another 50 minutes to check them out.

Funny, it was BO throwing "McCarthy" at Hillary, it's his people making the black lists...maybe the projection rule works here too (use to be "If a GOP-er accuses a dem of something.....look what he's hiding"

think that, without any different tools, would have different results now - with an even more intensified VRWC machine.
As some said, if BO makes it through GE, he'll be impeached day 2 in office. You think I'm exaggerating? Take a look at Governor Patterson of NY (if they overthrow him too, the next in like is a GOP-er - the Senate leader Bruno) Tabloids here have him on page one every single day - since he took office last week.
Democrats are ready to give away their HISTORY - for goodness sake - for an abject hope to power. But by erasing the Clinton administration from the history books, they only push themselves further to the fringes.
So, the whole Raygun transformational orgy is part of this big plan of making really, really nice to them, maybe this time they'll lay down and allow us to take power when we win this time. After all, we played nice and ignored two election thefts thefts - that ought to count for something....
And if keep very quiet, wear a low cut dress at dinner, pretend I am dumb, smile at all his jokes, clean the house well, ignore his affairs, drunkenness and bad smell - maybe this time my hubby won't beat me...

It's a strategy that always worked for us, non?

""By the way, I would reach out to the first George Bush. You know, one of the things that I think George H.W. Bush doesn't get enough credit for was his foreign policy team and the way that he helped negotiate the end of the Cold War and prosecuted the Gulf War. That cost us 20 billion dollars. That's all it cost. It was extremely successful. I think there were a lot of very wise people. So I want a bipartisan team that can help to provide me good advice and counsel when I'm president of the United States"
