That's it in a nutshell: He's rich, famous, powerful, and unloved. Popular, perhaps, but not truly admired, emulated, or respected. Don't think for one second that Rush wouldn't trade places with a Walter Conkrite or even a Keith Olbermann. He knows how unsubstantial he really is--that's what the Oxycontin is for, to numb the pain. It's the difference between being famous for posing nude with a golf bag and being famous for rushing for ten thousand yards.

Georgie Bush was the same way--he's still trying to figure out why he wasn't universally and unconditionally loved. Don't think for one second that he and Rush wouldn't use their millions to buy some if it were possible.
