Eschew Obfuscation - by sazemisery

The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value.

Thomas Paine, Common Sense, December 23, 1776

Code Pink's actions yesterday, gave me pause to ponder this passage. These men and women have given up their daily lives, altered their very existence to speak truth to power. They have been relentless in their quest to shove reality into the faces of our elected "leaders" and the American public.

Some criticize their actions saying they are "over the top" and too "radical" for our cause.
I say these critics are wrong.

Some say they wish they would stop criticizing the Democrats.
I say these critics are wrong.

Speaking truth to power knows no political boundaries. It cares not about elephants and donkeys. Code Pink wants what I believe the majority of this country wants, an end to the war in Iraq, accountability of the leaders of this country to WE THE PEOPLE.

I stand today in solidarity with the members of Code Pink.
