“I absolutely dread what his (Barack Obama’s) presidency would mean for America.”

He agreed that Obama has struck a nerve with, and in particular, the nation’s younger voters.

“He’s turning out the youth,” Rubio said, “but at a very superficial level.” <<<

Rubio said “my generation” (he’s 36) is captured “by images, not specifics.”

“His economic policies will doom my generation,” he said, adding that Obama wasn’t “evil – he’s wrong.”

Rubio said much of Obama’s appeal is generally to those – and because the idea of ‘entitlement’ has now become institutionalized -- who argue that there shouldn’t be one big winner, for example, in the state lottery, but lots of small winners.

“There are people who don’t believe that America’s history is all that great – they want us to be like France, Spain and Italy,” he said, and where mediocrity and the (small winner) least common denominator approach define both governmental policy and cultural outlook.

Rubio said that Obama also wants to “engage Castro.”

“He shouldn’t be engaged,” said the first Cuban-American elected Florida Speaker of the House. “He should be indicted.”

Obama is “naive,” Rubio said, “That’s not unique in academia,” he continued. “They live on planet happy, not planet earth.”

Sometimes the hogwash is so deep, it even offends the gators.

Now, what kind of politician is dreading an Obama presidency? A Jeb Bush clone.

And, beware, because this particular one has *AMBITION*.

Obama to address nation's mayors in Miami

WASHINGTONAUSTIN, Texas - When the U.S. Conference of Mayors meets next week in Miami, they'll get one of the most sought-after political speakers in the country: Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

Miami Mayor Manny Diaz said Tuesday that Obama's appearance is confirmed for the 76th annual meeting of the mayors group.

Mayors of both parties weigh in on domestic policy issues that impact urban America and metropolitan areas. And cities make up the bulk of the electorate, the conference of mayors said, with 95 percent of U.S. residents living in cities and metropolitan areas.

Besides Obama, a Democratic U.S. senator from Illinois scheduled for June 21, the conference has invited John McCain, the presumed Republican nominee and U.S. senator from Arizona.
