We love weddings. Mostly.

Pam Bondi plans to get married Saturday

Posted by Amy Hollyfield at 6:14:57 pm on May 25, 2012

Pam Bondi, Florida's attorney general, is scheduled to get married to a Tampa doctor Saturday afternoon in the Cayman Islands.

Bondi, 46, is set to tie the knot with fiance Gregory Henderson, an ophthalmologist pictured here, at about 5 p.m. at the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman.

Bondi's spokeswomen did not return calls, but a staffer at the fancy hotel said Bondi was at her rehearsal dinner Friday night.

About 50 family members and friends are supposed to attend the ceremony.

Although the AG desperately tried to keep the event a secret, state Sen. Paula Dockery let the cat out of the bag on her Facebook page Thursday when she reported seeing Bondi at Tampa International Airport and being on the same flight to the islands.

Dockery also posted this photo of Bondi playing flight attendant during the trip.

Update: Pam Bondi isn't getting married after all (yet)

Posted by Amy Hollyfield at 5:41:57 pm on May 26, 2012

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi and her fiance are waiting a few more weeks to tie the knot.

Instead of a wedding ceremony Saturday afternoon in the Cayman Islands, Bondi and Tampa opthamologist (sic) Greg Henderson, left, will "make it official in several weeks when all our family members can be there," Bondi said when reached at the Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman.

An event being held Saturday evening will be a "celebration of upcoming nuptials," Bondi said.

The wedding ultimately will be "small, private and in a Baptist church soon" in the Tampa area, she added.

In the meantime, she said, "We are thrilled to be here having the time of our lives."

Among those who joined Bondi and Henderson this weekend are Gov. Rick Scott and his wife, Ann; South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson; Hillsborough State Attorney Mark Ober; and Kim and John Kirtley. Kim Kirtley was the communications director for Bondi's campaign when she ran for attorney general.

A gathering Saturday evening was a "celebration of upcoming nuptials," Bondi said, adding that she planned to wear her wedding dress at the event.

Bondi told the Tampa Bay Times last week that she was planning a beachfront wedding at the Ritz-Carlton. On Saturday, she declined to discuss what led to the change of plans.

Among those who joined Bondi and Henderson this weekend: Gov. Rick Scott and his wife, Ann; Hillsborough State Attorney Mark Ober; former Tampa Mayor Dick Greco and his wife, Linda; and Kim and John Kirtley. Kim Kirtley was the communications director for Bondi's campaign when she ran for attorney general.

The group also included Henderson's mother and four adult children as well as Bondi's parents and younger brother, Brad.

Pam Bondi to Ritz-Carlton: Shut up About My Wedding!

Posted by Jose Lambiet on May 26, 2012

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi put the kibosh on Ritz-Carlton personnel in the Cayman Islands giving out information about her wedding to Tampa doctor Greg Henderson!

The ceremony is scheduled for 5 p.m. on the hotel’s beachfront Great Lawn.

A source at the $400-a-night hotel, which advertises wedding packages in the $20,000-range, tells me desk and reservation clerks have been told to say Bondi’s no longer registered as a guest, even if she is.

A furious Bondi, 45, apparently gave managers an earful about Gossip Extra‘s scoop yesterday that she had secretly eloped to Grand Cayman to tie the knot.

State Sen. Paula Dockery, a Lakeland Republican, blew Bondi’s attempt at privacy by tweeting about it after spotting Bondi on a flight to the islands with “her wedding party.”

It’s the family values defender Bondi’s third attempt at the marriage thing.

AG Pam Bondi Elopes to The Cayman Islands to Get Married!

Posted by Jose Lambiet on May 25, 2012

Pam Bondi, Florida’s comely attorney general, is scheduled to get married to a Tampa doctor tomorrow afternoon in the Cayman Islands, Gossip Extra has learned.

Bondi, 46, is set to tie the knot with fiance Gregory Henderson, an ophthalmologist, about 5 p.m. at the Ritz Carlton Grand Cayman, according to several sources.

Neither her spokeswomen are returning calls, but a staffer at the fancy hotel said the Republican bombshell is at her rehearsal dinner tonight.

“The wedding is supposed to take place on the great lawn, right in front of the beach,” the source said. “But the weather here is pretty bad. It’s been raining all week, so they might have to move indoors.”

I’m told about 50 family members and friends are expected at tomorrow’s ceremony.

Although Bondi desperately tried to keep the event a secret, State Senator Paula Dockery let the cat out of the bag on her Facebook page yesterday when she reported seeing Bondi at Tampa International Airport and being on the same flight.

“The plane is filled with her wedding party,” Dockery’s entry read.

It’s Bondi’s third attempt at marital bliss while Henderson has four grown children.

Oh, yeah. A wedding party to celebrate an "upcoming" wedding. Must be pretty expensive for all of the guests who flew down for this "pre-wedding party".

Here are a few of them.

(Governor Rick Scott, the international joke, just back from Spain.)

This is my take: The wedding happened as planned. There is probably a tea party/evangelical/'family values' complaint in this somewhere, so she needs to reaffirm "take her vows" in a local Baptist church back home ASAP.

If this is the case, why does she feel the need to lie about all of it?

Best of luck in your marriage, Ms. Bondi.

Meanwhile, Floridians are waiting for foreclosure help and prosecution of those who perpetrated it, as Bondi refuses to prosecute and, instead, fires state lawyers working on the foreclosure fraud investigations;

Floridians are wondering whether they can afford contraceptives, now that Bondi is fighting against employer-based insurance coverage for contraceptives;

Floridians are watching Ms. Bondi team up with Marco Rubio in Washington, fighting Obama's health care legislation;

------

If only Ms. Bondi, a former FOX legal commentator, fought for what is right for the people, with half of the intensity she manipulates the system for what benefits herself .....

This is yet another mistake holding high office in the state of Florida.
