It even killed my friend at 26 with the "pre-existing condition" dodge that so-called "health insurance" uses to pad their profits and buy themselves boats and vacation homes at our expense. BTW, the $500 million that you say "Obama stole from Medicare" was money that had 14% overhead so private insurance could offer people a gym membership with the same care that the Medicare you hate so much provides for 3%. We have a budget crisis, remember?

Looks like it started maybe at 7 pm instead of 8 pm which another one used.

Don't expect yours to work. A landline usually will, BTW. You need to have drinking water in your house.

Cell Tower Backup Power

"Verizon reminds investors that the FCC imposes "specific mandates" on wireless carriers including "backup electric power at most cell sites." Therefore, cell towers typically have battery backup arrangements that support operations for two to four hours, depending upon call traffic.
In 2008 the FCC wanted to order an eight-hour minimum, but the Bush administration asked for more study.
In critical service areas, battery backup is enhanced by generators that automatically start when the batteries cannot provide enough power."

Huh?

A little pricier than green cabbage, but more flavorful and one of the "magic" cruciferous vegetables (like broccoli) that are fantastically healthy for you.

All you do:

o Get a pot
o Saute a little red onion, 2 chopped garlics and some California Olive Ranch EVOO
o 5 drops of Sesame Oil
o Throw in some Swanson's (Organic, if you can) Chicken Broth
o Add a few Hormel Bacon bits
o Toss in the washed Brussel Sprouts
o I usually sweeten it slightly with a splash of something sweet like Organic Raw Blue Agave (Amazon)
o Smart & Final has beautiful Portabello Mushrooms now so I would dice and add one of them.

Simmer about 10 minutes. Season to taste with Knorr Chicken bouillon or Celtic Sea Salt

The broth is rich and wonderful. You can add the cooked Brussel Sprouts to soup you make in a similar way.

Enjoy! I just added this to my Journal, for all of you cooks.

Ed Rendell was talking on CSPAN Journal this morning about the public/private benefits of the infrastructure. That bill contains the seeds of millions of jobs. All it needs to do is to get through the do-nothing GOP Tea-congress. We must force them to vote on it.

Please listen to Rendell later today when the podcasts are posted here:

Thanks!

NOTHING, right?

What do they do about your GOP crony giving investment banks $700 Billion "up front" when they maliciously caused the Great Recession?

Isn't that "moral hazard" and wouldn't you be equally guilty of it if elected?

Can’t think very well today. My best friend, Michael, from Las Vegas has died from lack of healthcare at the age of 27, so I made a memorial blog for him. Did you see the 60 Minutes piece on Sunday about LV?

There’s a couple of short news videos posted there about his life there worth seeing. He was just starting out and unable to pay for the specialized medicine for his Wilson’s disease. So, Mike took over-the-counter zinc instead of the $350 per month RXs he was supposed to. It’s very sad and hard to bear. Here is his other memorial site: RememberMichaelTroy.com.

1) Geburtstags Herr Mozart - Mr. Most-art's 253'd Birthday 1-27-2009

http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/...

Mozart circa 1780, by Johann Nepomuk della Croce

"Dad's a little nuts, from a family which included architects and bookbinders, and wrote a famous fiddle-playing manual which was published on my 0th birthday. My sister, Nannerl, and I froze our butts off riding all over Europe in a carriage to perform as child prodigies for daddy. It was a cottage industry."

2) The Vietnam War is 36 today, having finally ended 1-27-1973:

The Paris accord was signed ending America's then longest war, and providing for an exchange of prisoners and for the unilateral withdrawal of U.S. forces from South Vietnam.

The poet and philosopher George Santayana said: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
