We have to get our information somewhere. That being said, the only two methods we truly have to consume that information is to read that which has been written, or hear about it from the mouths of others. This makes the punditry of America an essential avenue of communication for all things as not everyone has the tenacity or the time to mine the endless data-streams of the global net researching all there is to know about that which is in the news. We rely upon those who portray themselves as experts to summarize the complexity of the world into easily consumed packages that we take in while accomplishing other, more pressing tasks. It is a shame that this essential network of information has been taken in and controlled by massive corporate states which answer not to the solemnity of truth, but to the dollar or worse. This breakdown makes the second avenue of communication, reading, even more essential. We must take up the pick every so often and mine the data-streams, digital and paper, in search of the truth. Take time for a book, surf the internet, or save a newspaper by reading one. The truth is out there, and relying on someone who is paid for their entertainment value to clue you in will never yield it. Dig a little.
