Well, either it makes you stupid or you're stupid to begin with leading to your belief in content or they just THINK you're stupid and in treating you that way it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy...

Anyway...

Here is a slightly nauseating tidbit I came across while searching for something to make my neocon associate's head explode. Take note that this "indoctrinating america's youth" crapola is only an issue because they make it up. Here is all but one sentence of a 5 paragraph article in "The Conservative Voice":

Bennish Extra Credit Join Anti-Bush Protestors
March 12, 2006 09:30 AM EST

By Sher Zieve – Anti-American Colorado high school teacher Jay Bennish’s student homework assignments are activist in nature. For “extra credit”, the teacher assigns his students participation in marching in anti-Bush parades and joining the protestors, the AP reports.

Speaking on KCNC-TV, Bennish said about his comparison of President Bush to genocidal leader Adolph Hitler: “I think next time I would have said Mussolini. Maybe it wouldn't have gotten me in so much trouble.”

Bennish who had been placed on paid administrative leave for making incendiary comments to his students against the United States, President Bush and Israel was reinstated to his teaching post on Friday.

Cherry Creek School District Superintendent Monte Moses refused to comment on what the district’s investigation of Bennish had uncovered but, did say that Bennish’s “practice and deportment need growth and refinement.” Sean Allen, who taped the teacher, said: “I would do it a million times over because I feel like it was the right thing to do and my conscience wouldn't let me go on and listen to the things Mr. Bennish was saying and indoctrinating students.”

If I was an idiot I'd stop right there and take it all as gospel in true idiot fashion. However, with the judicious use of just a few brain cells you can click on the article LINKED TO THE OP and get a story quite different from this one...

Controversial teacher reinstated

By COLLEEN SLEVIN Associated Press Writer
Saturday, March 11, 2006 7:59 PM MST

The social studies teacher who made national headlines for drawing a comparison between President Bush and Hitler once sent his students to Denver's Columbus Day parade, where people are routinely arrested while demonstrating against a man they blame for genocide and oppression against native people.

The students' extra-credit assignment: to either march in the parade or join the protesters.

"What's this?" says I. Is the Columbus day parade an Anti Bush Parade that happens to be held on Columbus day? If Bennish's students get credit for attending either the parade or the protest, can they both be anti-Bush? (am I using too many brain cells now?)

So I hazard a quick google on "Denver Columbus Day Parade" and hit the "I'm feeling lucky" button. What to my astonished eyes is unveiled but a story at a site called "nationalvanguard" which I quickly determine is nothing more than a white power sleaze site. The Denver Columbus Day Parade is an event supported by a white supremacist group?

So a few more google hits shows that the protesters are native americans and native sympathizers that object to the historical myth of columbus as a hero to be worshiped.

So what does the parade have to do with the president? What does the protest have to do with the president? Nothing! It's all a lie! The entire basis of the story including the TITLE was written based on an outright lie!

Now here's the moral of this story. If I was a lazy-ass shit for brains freeper instead of a natural skeptic, I might be led to believe that our nation's children are being indoctrinated by gay communist illegal foreign-speaking pod liberals from Cambridge.

However, with about 3 minutes of research, I was able to determine that the conservative media source was lying in my face with nasty shit breath, actively trying to make me stupider, which is something noone can afford in this medern age.

There is only 1 conclusion I can draw from this... Conservative media makes you dumb as a bag of rocks.
