Off on a 12 day vacation with my best friend in life----- Jim

----Japan, Hong Kong---Thailand---Singapore....etc. My wife gave me a 12 day hall pass which tells you right there why I love her so much.

One quick note--- The world really does function well despite what the course in American exceptionalism has taught us.

I'll report back later.

A 15-year-old girl and three adults were charged Wednesday with murdering the girl's mother, burying her body and torturing the girl's little brother by repeatedly scalding him with hot water.

Authorities took them into custody after an investigation into a missing 2-year-old Florida girl led them to a rental property in Portage, about 40 miles north of Madison, Wisc.

There, they made several shocking discoveries: a severely burned and blood-streaked 11-year-old boy in a closet; the body of his 36-year-old mother, Tammie Garlin, who had lived in Sanford, buried in the backyard; and the 2-year-old who had been kidnapped from a Florida foster home.

I love the Crooks & Liars web site because they were one of the first sites to post videos of political interest. It was their videos more than their commentary that brought me to their site.

Well--- DU, in my mind, has now become that go-to place for the latest and greatest videos. We have hundreds of contributors posting videos and that keeps the content fresh and current.

Not one counter to the Limbaugh smear.

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh today attacked actor Michael J. Fox for inserting his halting voice into the U.S. Senate campaign in Missouri, suggesting Fox was "acting" in a commercial where he's shown shaking while endorsing the importance of stem cell research.

"He is exaggerating the effects of the disease," Limbaugh told listeners today, encouraging them to go online to watch Fox's commercial, which first aired Oct. 21 in St. Louis during a World Series game. "He's moving all around and shaking and it's purely an act."

In the commercial, Fox throws his support behind Democratic Missouri Senate candidate Claire McCaskill, who supports stem cell research, against Republican James M. Talent. Fox also taped similar ads for other Democratic candidates, including Benjamin L. Cardin in his Senate race against Republican Michael S. Steele in Maryland and Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle (D), who is seeking reelection.

The ads bear witness to the actor's unmistakable decline from Parkinson's, which the actor has suffered from for a long time, and harnesses that physical degeneration into a political message
