Anyone who even casually watched his show knows that Imus should have been off the air a long time ago. With his crew of sexists racists and general assholes, add in guests like Bo Dietl, what may have seemed like non-PC old school backroom boys club to them came off as indecent and misplaced in a society trying desperately to move forward.

This must have been the draw for the rich and powerful to call into his show every morning. Well it was either that vicarious connection to him or it was a negative morning proclamation to themselves, as they awoken from the soulless blackness of the hang over from the last night's insider cocktail parties where all accountability and their responsibility was washed away with tumbler sized amounts of various liquids, that they could indeed go through the whole dark parade of lies and disconnection of their actions to the rest of the outside world. Imus's voice in the background, as they hunched over the bathroom sink delaying the inevitable bleak face awaiting them in the mirror with the relentless pounding of a telltale heart to a rhythm of what they have become and what they let happen with the excuses of helplessness that no engineered hue of the most advanced lighting system can dim or hide, reminded them that "the Iman" was up and at it again HE could do it why couldn't they? He was the affirmation they needed placate them into firing up the machinery with its loud transmission that serves only to keep the impression of movement alive with turn signals that serve as light completely for itself as the actual backwards movement of another 25 years that serve to facilitate the exultation of the corporate charter above the Constitution and the total loss of: individual freedoms, recourse in the judicial system, all oversight involvement and protection of & for individuals that government provides free of charge. With it all culminating in the twisting of the civic role as the power of the vote is diluted and work serves only to pay for mercenary forces including a private one for the executive branch.
