We should all take a minute to call our Representatives and Senators, especially Repugnant ones, and demand that they lean on Senator Jon Kyl and tell him to get out of the way of the New Start Treaty.
Capital Switchboard: (202) 224-3121
Or call Senator Jon "Sphinkter" Kyl's office directly:
Washington (202) 224-4521
Phoenix (602) 840-1891
Tucson (520) 57...

During the campaign we heard a lot about, and gave to, so-called money bombs, designed to get a bunch of money all at once to make an impression on the opponent and, really, to raise a bunch of cash. What if we have a phone bomb Monday-all day- the day the lame-duck session of Congress starts. Whereby, we, everybody, calls their respective representative and Senators in Washington and demand that the lame-duck pass tax cuts for the middle class and ONLY the middle class. If the Democrats can't s...
..It wasn't a lot, but it was something. It's not too late everybody! every little bit helps! Contribute a little now if you can. well, back to phone canvassing...we can do this people!
did it go back in time? everything I see posted there now is old. I've reloaded the page to no avail.
On Thom Hartmann's show today he pointed out that while everyone has focused on "waterloo" in Demint's comments, what may be more controversial by far is the word "break" as in "it will break him". My initial, knee-jerk reaction to Thom's comment was skepticism. Are we reading too much into everything regarding race? Are we overly sensitive? Isn't this a real reach?
Then I listened to the word as contained in quotes read by Hartmann, quotes from one-time slaves such as Frederic Douglas and fro...
Anybody here noticing the reduction in their tax liability? I am getting more back than ever and I'm wondering if this is something that's going to be coming to light now that people are doing their taxes.
Maybe even some tea baggers are gonna start seeing the benefits and maybe they'll start feeling stupid about those "taxed enough already" signs in light of this.
...congress should pass a law that says, yeah, corporations can give all they want to a candidate but the government will be required to match it dollar for dollar for the opponents campaign.
This way, no restriction will be imposed on how much "speech" any candidate can accept-BUT, by requiring tax payers to match it for the opponent, any candidate accepting corporate money will be effectively raising everyone's taxes!

When Reagan beat carter in a landslide, he said he had a "mandate". He concluded that getting so many votes- winning so decisively-meant that the people liked his ideas. When Bush lost the popular vote in 2000, he had the nerve to call that debacle a mandate too, and he governed as though he had one. The dems in congress gave him everything he wanted.
In 2008 Obama beat McCain in a electoral landslide. Instead of calling it a mandate and getting things done, he opted for the strategy of apoli...

Call 'em, tell 'em what you think about them syndicating these vile racist liars. Ask them how they sleep at night while knowing they are helping to promote Limbaugh's Manson-like desire for race riots. Ask them why, if they report the truth, the Clinton's haven't been brought to justice for what these clowns spent so much time and airwaves reporting: the murder of two teenagers and others in arkans...

...label it an insult so you can continue dodging the questions...like what? my opinion? beliefs? I once knew a girl who was crazy about animals. She almost seemed to talk to animals. I witnessed her successfully coax a wild raccoon out from under a bunch of shopping carts outside a Target store. It came right up to her. She took in every stray dog or cat she saw. She would be angered by any callousness, including talk, directed at any animal. Once, making conversation, I asked her what she was ...

Country music's answer to ted 'threaten the president' nugent is fellow chickenhawk toby keith who apparently is really ashamed, in true chickenhawk style, of what he said to Kris Kristofferson backstage. (keith was actually not named in the Rolling Stone article, link below).

...it that where our large brains got us? You mentioned you have a kitty. I have a dog. She's happy to see me when I get home, seems disappointed when we leave, shows fear in the presence of aggressive dogs, in short shows a range of feelings. Yeah, she would lap up milk if available too. She would probably go for a human steak if I gave her one, it's only natural, that's nature. But, as you pointed out, we've got these big brains now and we're putting them to good use. They took us to burning '...

...but I for one am looking forward to the day, and I believe it's coming, when humans stop exploiting animals for food, especially considering that a plant-based diet is healthier. I am sympathetic to those people, especially the small farmers, who make their living with animals. I wonder if the falling prices could be due it part to the increase it popularity of products like SILK which more and more people are using in place of milk. The bottom line is that someday people will have evolved pa...

we want instant gratification. Long posts take too long for some people to read (or write). Americans want everything fast and in pill form. We subsist on fast food garbage that is loaded with sugar, salt and cholesterol, and low on what we need like whole grain fiber, fresh fruits and vegetables. We are an obese society.
It's to the point that disorders such as type two diabetes are becoming an acceptable by-product of our lifestyle choices. There's even a magazine now called DIABETIC LIVING....

As an American during troubled times I am really disappointed, ( as I expressed to a rude member of your staff, who cut me off ) in your obstructionism of this important stimulus bill. After eight years of Republican failure, more of the same is just not an option, as one would expect common sense to convey. You yourself sir, in recordings aired during the election (which your side lost) admitted to a lack of understanding of the workings of the economy. This is obvious now as time and time a... ..say that Reagan brought down the Soviet Union and ended the cold-war single handedly. "Forensic accountants" who went in and looked over the "books" of the Soviet economy after the collapse say that the country was on the brink of economic collapse already and had been going downhill for a long time. No doubt that Reagan's "upping of the ante" in the arms race hastened the day that it "folded". It would have happened eventually anyway. I give him a little credit for speeding up the process, fo...

Reagan is iconic now, but it's a shame that more people don't know the truth. He was the father of many of the problems that we have today. He was anti-environment in a big way.. he said greed is good, promoting big cars. He took the solar panels off of the Whitehouse that Carter put up. I'll go further...by rolling back Carter's plan to get off of middle-eastern oil by the year 2000, (Carter set the goal of 25 years in 1975) he helped us continue to pour billions of American dollars into the Mi...

frustrating is this "they kept us safe" crap. Do these people really think that Al Queida's only objective is to watch buildings fall? What are they, demolition buffs? The purpose of the attacks was to cause fear. That's why they call it "terrorism" The reason they want people terrified is because a scared populace will often make rash, panic-driven decisions. The objective has nothing to do with seeing how many buildings they can knock down. It's like saying "why didn't John Wilkes Booth go bac...
