For those of us who love our city, this is very sad.

Carol Chumney has served 17 years in elected office, and has earned the public trust.

Chumney was elected to the City Council in the fall of 2003, and now chairs the Council MLGW and Budget Committees.

She pushed to repeal the twelve year pension for elected and appointed officials, exposed budget shortfalls, the drop in the bond rating, and has worked to hold the administration accountable.

Prior to 2003, Chumney served for 13 years in the Tennessee House of Representatives where she rose to various leadership positions, including Chair of the House Children & Family Affairs Committee and the Shelby County Delegation.

Chumney is a lifelong Memphian who graduated from Memphis public schools. She earned her Juris Doctorate from The University of Memphis Law School in 1986 and has since practiced law in the Memphis and Shelby County region.

She cares about the city of Memphis and has a deep commitment to its future. That’s why she is a candidate for Mayor.

Only Carol Chumney can make a positive change in Memphis. Please vote and tell all your friends and family to vote for Carol Chumney for Mayor on October 4th and move Memphis forward to becoming the progressive, metropolitan city it has the potential to be.
