. . .for those of you wanting to see what happened on Tahir Square happen in America, it happened in Grant Park on November 2008, or did you forget?

We have a democracy, they have (had) a dictatorship. Our change looks and happens differently.

This is the first day in a new Egypt, like we are experiencing in America the change won't happen overnight, the change is going to be rough. Many of the idealistic individuals who drove this change are going to become disillusioned and frustrated with the pace and face of the change, much like many of the idealistic individuals who drove our change.

Its easy to romanticize what is going on there and wish that it would happen here, but it already has. Hopefully the Egyptian people will stay engaged, like we should continue to do here, and follow through with that change.

Also, Obama had a lot to do with this. What happened in Grant Park on November 4, 2008, and the events leading up to it (primaries, convention, campaign rallies, and the election)had a lot do with what happened in Egypt, he did.

Does Tahir Square happen if Obama doesn't speak in Cairo? We don't know, but I believe it played a role.

If you don't believe it tell me what would have happened in Tahir Square under a President McCain.
